These refined, vintage inspired lockets are like tussie mussies from Victorian times.
In floriography, the Victorian language of flowers, tussie mussies or nose gays were given to a beloved to convey a message. These small floral bouquets were gifted as a piece of poetry that appealed to the eyes and the sense of smell. The word posy was first written as poesy referring to poetry.
The design on the face of this locket is the Victorian diamond pattern. The unique, vintage beaded chains have been created specifically for us by local artisan Amy of Adorn Reborn, who repurposed antique jewelry.
PERFUME DETAILS
- Materials: Local beeswax; Organic jojoba oil; vital plant essences including essential oils, absolutes and co2 extracts; and our own artisanal infusions
- The inside recessed circle of the locket contains a solid perfume pan measures 23mm. The small tray will supply about 30 applications of the fragrance. There is approximately 1.5 grams by weight of solid perfume in the little replacement tin. The tin is held in place with a tiny amount of removable putty.
- The solid natural perfume is poured into a separate aluminum pan so that they will not adversely react with the raw metal of the locket. This insures longevity of your perfume and also gives you the option to swap out different fragrances.

In the future we intend to offer the solid perfume pans individually so that a different scent can be chosen for each occasion. In the meantime, save the tin and request a refill.
LOCKET & CHAIN DETAILS

The oval brass locket measures 42mm tall (just over an inch and a half) by 33mm wide (1 1/4 inches).
- The lockets are made in the USA from vintage molds that dates back to the 1940's. Each one has been plated with a brass ox to create an antique quality, no lead or nickel have been utilized. The metal is lightweight thus making the necklace comfortable to wear.
- The unique brass chain with vintage, antique components feature Opal and Jasper beads.
- The design of the necklace chain is asymmetrical.
- The lobster clasp, and the variety of sizing in the links, allows for you to wear this one of a kind necklace at various lengths to suit your mood and outfits.
- The necklace is placed in a pouch with informational cards all contained within a gift box, ready for giving to someone special or for acknowledging the special-ness of your self.
STONES
Opal is known as a water stone due to it's has high concentration of water. The stone is created from the silica deposit left behind when the water evaporates, although some water still remains behind. The arrangement of silica-spheres contained within opals give a rainbow-like appearance. The indigenous people of the Americans Indian thought that opals are where the goddess of the rainbow turned to stone.
Jasper, like Carnelian resides in the Quartz family and is a variety of Chalcedony. Ancient people regarded the stone as sacred stone of physical and spiritual protection relating to courage and wisdom. In both ancient Egypt and the indigenous people of America, Red Jasper was linked to fertility due to the associated color blood of the Mother Goddess / Mother Earth.
